The event brought together international leaders from across different sectors to engage in impactful discussions on urgent global issues. The event aimed to underscore the unique Ireland-Europe-US relationship and Ireland’s pivotal role as an international bridge.
The Global Economic Summit is more than a platform for discussion; it is a catalyst for action. From expert keynotes to intimate, proactive workshops, the agenda format and robust impact report ensure that the ideas and solutions generated at the forum translate into tangible outcomes that will shape boardroom conversations and policy-making in the future.
The summit boasted diverse speakers such as the Minister for Finance, Michael McGrath, the Governor of New York, Kathy Hocul, Prince Albert II of Monaco, and Ireland’s European Commissioner, Mairead McGuinness, with over 400+delegates in attendance. The three-day summit delved deep into the most urgent global issues, encompassing the challenges surrounding Artificial Intelligence (AI), climate change, education, and energy sustainability.
On day two, RelateCare CEO Conor O’Byrne, along with Gerardine Doyle, Professor at UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School, and Anita Finnegan, CEO of Nova Leah, led a discussion on MedTech Futures, chaired by former Minister Ivan Yates. This panel specifically focused on the role of technology in healthcare innovation, discussing topics such as the use of AI in diagnostics, the potential of telemedicine, and the challenges of data privacy in the digital healthcare era.
On the panel, O’Byrne highlighted RelateCare’s extensive experience operating with Electronic Health Records (EHRs) with partner healthcare systems across the US. Conor highlighted the benefits and impact of healthcare delivery when a full EHR system is in place. Conor explained that adopting EHRs, enabling the digital storage of patient data and eliminating the need for paper records and the costs involved in maintaining them, will present a massive opportunity in future of healthcare delivery.
EHRs contain a patient’s critical medical history and can include diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and immunization dates, as well as allergies, X-rays, and laboratory test results plus much more. Developers can also programme EHR systems to include data beyond the purely clinical, including lifestyle, geographical location, and fitness metrics, to provide a more extensive view of a patient’s care and potential future clinical and overall health needs.
Conor reflected on the summit, saying:
“It is a source of great pride to see an independent summit of this stature being held in Ireland. The Global Economic Summit is at the forefront of international thinking, addressing major economic, cultural, and social issues that affect us all.
The summit showcased Ireland’s remarkable infrastructure, dynamic business environment, and diverse human capital and emphasized its potential to accelerate its global footprint and multilateral influence. I’m delighted to have had the opportunity to take part and highlight RelateCare’s position on the global healthcare stage.”
