Referral Management

What is it?

A Physician Referral is a special kind of pre-approval that individual health plan members—primarily those with HMOs and POS plans—must obtain from their chosen primary care physician before seeing a specialist or another doctor within the same network. Without a referral in place, patients are being turned away for services or being left with a financial burden of not having a PCP referral in place.

How does it work?

RelateCare provides a dedicated team of trained Referral agents who focus on processing incoming, internal and outgoing referrals for organizations using omni-channel communications. In addition, once referral is processed the team makes outbound calls to patients, attempting to schedule them for requested services.

Why do you need it?

Referral management causes frustration for providers and their patients, creates redundant and relative work for agents, and potentially unnecessary visits to specialist without a referral on file.
